The Kingthings Fonts
Before this site was a typography journal, it was a one-person font foundry. The Kingthings family, 25 free hand-drawn typefaces spanning gothic, decorative, serif and sans-serif, has been downloaded millions of times. Every one is free to preview and download right here, unchanged from the designer's own original files.

A note on who runs this site: Kingthings is Kevin King's work, and the fonts are republished here under his own licence, which names this domain directly. The site itself is no longer operated by him — it is run as an independent typography journal, and he is not responsible for anything published on it. For anything to do with the fonts themselves, or to reach the designer, his own listing at dafont.com/kingthings is the place to go.

Questions about these fonts
Can I use these fonts commercially?
Yes. The EULA that ships inside every package says it plainly, in the designer's own words: "All the fonts currently published on my website (www.kingthingsfonts.co.uk) are free for you to use for any purpose you wish." That is the whole permission, written for this exact domain. He adds one request, not a restriction: if you make something you like with them, he'd appreciate a picture.
Can I modify or rename the font files?
The licence asks you not to: "Please do not change my original font files (.TTF)." We've honoured that here, which is why nothing on this page has been re-exported, re-compressed or converted to WOFF. Every file is byte-for-byte what the designer released, and each download is his original .zip with his own readme and licence still inside it.
What format are the fonts, and will they work on my computer?
They're TrueType (.ttf), the format both Windows and macOS have installed natively for decades, and which Linux desktops handle too. On Windows, right-click the file and choose Install. On macOS, double-click it and press Install Font. Design software usually needs restarting afterwards before the new face appears in its font menu.
Why do some downloads contain more than one font?
Because several of these were released as small sets rather than single faces. Of the 25 packages here, 8 hold more than one file, which is why 25 downloads give you 36 fonts in total. Kingthings Serifique brings four, Gothique three, and Exeter arrives with a companion face called Facetype. The extra files are in the archive exactly as the designer bundled them.
Are there paid versions of these typefaces?
The designer's own licence notes that expanded commercial versions of some Kingthings faces, with much larger character sets, were sold separately through CheapProFonts, and that those carry their own separate licence which this free one doesn't cover. The free originals on this page are complete and unrestricted in their own right.
What do the download numbers mean?
They're the lifetime download counts recorded against each typeface at the time this page was last built, which is where the 8.2 million-plus total across the collection comes from. They're a rough measure of reach over roughly two decades rather than a live counter, and they aren't updated in real time.
